What do you need help with?
Which bobbin class, part, material and height does the guide identify?
Before you use this answer
Read all original supplied/same-type and model conditions. These literal OEM references do not establish diameter, substitutes, a later revision or every Class15 sales unit.
Documents and page references →Which needle category and fabric/thread choices does the guide give?
Before you use this answer
Home-sewing category wording is not a formal system code. Use the full original fabric/thread/point chart with every special-use and heavy-fabric row; no one-size recommendation.
Documents and page references →How do I attach the foot and remove its holder?
Before you use this answer
Follow the complete lock-control, alignment, secure-attachment and stitch-specific conditions. The holder procedure does not establish shank class, generic adapters or aftermarket fit.
Documents and page references →How should I clean and oil the machine?
Before you use this answer
Read the full original unplugging, removal, alignment and reassembly procedure. Preserve the no-user-oiling direction; technician lubrication is not established.
Documents and page references →What sewing range, embroidery speed and pattern size are documented?
Before you use this answer
Keep sewing, embroidery and pattern-area specifications distinct with their complete original conditions; none establishes maximum stitch width.
Documents and page references →How do I load the bobbin?
Before you use this answer
Follow the original key/button locking, foot and thread-guide sequence with the complete illustrations; loading direction does not broaden bobbin fit.

Needle
System type and range
- Choose the exact needle and thread combination for fabric type and thickness.
Use home sewing machine needles in sizes 65/9 through 100/16 and thread in 30-90 weight; do not use thread of 20 weight or lower.
Sources and pages
Fabric thread point conditions
- Preserve the ordinary table rows and the separate character/decorative-stitch rules as distinct associations; sew trial stitches.
Lightweight: polyester 60-90 or cotton/silk 50-80 with 65/9-75/11. Medium: polyester 60-90 or cotton/silk 50-60 with 75/11-90/14. Denim at 12 ounces or more, canvas, or that row's other examples: polyester or cotton 30 with 100/16. Separate denim-12-plus/canvas/tweed/corduroy/velour/melton-wool/vinyl-coated row: polyester 60 or cotton/silk 30-50 with 90/14-100/16. Stretch: polyester/cotton/silk 50 with ballpoint 75/11-90/14. Top-stitching: polyester/cotton 30 with 90/14-100/16, or 50-60 with 75/11-90/14. Use a home topstitching needle for transparent nylon and 75/11 for embroidery. Separately, for character or decorative stitch patterns use #50-#60 thread: use ballpoint 90/14 on lightweight, medium or stretch fabrics, and home-sewing 90/14 on heavyweight fabrics.

Needle insertion
- Do not apply strong force when loosening or tightening; incomplete insertion or tightening may break the needle and cause injury.
Raise the needle, cover the needle-plate hole, lock all controls and remove the foot. Hold the needle with the left hand and use a screwdriver to loosen the clamp toward you counterclockwise. Insert a straight needle flat-side rear to the stopper, use the screwdriver to tighten clockwise, reattach the foot, then unlock.

Bobbin
Class part material
- This does not establish Class 15J, unrestricted interchangeability or cross-brand fit.
Use the supplied plastic X52800-120 bobbin or bobbins of the same type; the manual literally calls X52800-120 a Class 15 type bobbin.
Sources and pages
Dimensions profile
- Only height and plastic material are established; diameter and complete geometry remain unknown.
The specified X52800-120 bobbin is 11.5 mm (approximately 7/16 inch) high.
Sources and pages
Loading and insertion
- Use a correctly wound bobbin and preserve direction and lock-before-insertion order.
Raise the needle, lock all keys and operation buttons, and raise the presser foot. Remove the cover, insert the bobbin so thread unwinds left, guide thread around the needle-plate-cover tab and through the slit, cut it, reattach the cover, then unlock.

Attachment mount mechanism
- This is the exact depicted pin/notch procedure, not a standardized shank claim.
Raise the needle, lock controls, raise the lever and press the holder's black rear button. Align the replacement-foot pin with the holder notch, lower until it snaps in, verify secure attachment, then unlock.
Sources and pages
Holder removal
- A loose holder can fall and let the needle strike it, break and cause injury.
Lock controls, remove the foot and loosen the holder screw toward the machine rear counterclockwise. To reattach, lock controls, raise the lever, align holder notch and screw, securely tighten toward you clockwise, then unlock.

OEM compatibility boundary
- No universal, third-party, cross-brand or standardized-shank compatibility is asserted.
Use the appropriate foot for the selected stitch and presser feet designed specifically for this machine.
Sources and pages
Walking foot procedure
- Thread manually or install after using the needle threader; use 90/14 for quilting and test on scrap fabric. If screws are not securely tightened or the needle contacts the foot, the needle may break and cause injury.
Remove the ordinary foot and holder, hook the walking-foot fork onto the needle-clamp screw, lower the lever and securely tighten the holder screw with the screwdriver. Sew between slow and medium speed; before sewing, slowly turn the handwheel toward you counterclockwise and verify the needle clears the foot.

Shank class
Not yet verified- Not yet verified: The exact manual does not name a standardized low-, high- or slant-shank class.
Shank type
- Only exact accepted Bloom BLMBM and this retained Baby Lock August2025 accessory catalog; other names, suffixes, generations and regions remain separate.
- This is a manufacturer chart classification, not dimensions, a universal adapter/holder promise, an offered retail unit, supplied equipment or proof that every accessory in the group fits. Follow exact manual and accessory conditions.
- Keep the printed G/L code: G is the accessory group; L uses the existing evidence engine low-shank mapping. No measured shank height, interchangeable holder or generic foot fit is established.
Low shank (the OEM group/shank chart prints G/L).

Owner features
Cleaning
- Do not oil the case; never use a scratched or burred case, and ensure correct installation.
Raise the needle, turn off and unplug the machine. Remove the needle, foot, attached flat-bed or embroidery unit, covers and bobbin case. Brush or vacuum the race, bobbin-thread sensor and surrounding area; reinstall the case with its marks aligned and replace covers.
Sources and pages
Owner lubrication
- Stop and contact an authorized Baby Lock retailer for a difficult handwheel or unusual noise; technician policy remains unknown.
The machine must not be oiled by the user; factory-applied oil makes periodic owner oiling unnecessary.
