Before choosing a part
Compatibility essentials
Start with these documented details. Read the requirements with each answer before choosing a needle, bobbin or foot.
- Foot attachment
- Needle sizes by fabric and use
Home sewing needles 65/9–100/16, selected by the fabric/thread matrix; embroidery 75/11. The threader has a separate 75/11–100/16 limit and special-needle restrictions.

What do you need help with?
Which bobbin and bobbin cases does the manual describe?
Before you use this answer
Read the complete original answer: preserve OEM references, plastic/Class 15/11.5 mm wording, loading direction, green-marked versus unmarked case, thread-weight and tension-adjustment differences. The separate Group G item does not establish a universal substitute.
Documents and page references →Which needle, threader and twin-needle restrictions apply?
Before you use this answer
Keep all fabric/thread pairings, embroidery/threader size limits and the full twin-needle setup and turning restrictions. Special-use wing-needle wording is not a universal needle-system designation.
Documents and page references →What embroidery field and built-in designs are specified?
Before you use this answer
Retain the exact specification edition and original conditions. The embroidery field is not a sewing stitch-width limit or a promise that an unlisted hoop fits.
Documents and page references →What sewing speed and machine dimensions are specified?
Before you use this answer
Keep the original units, measurements and edition conditions. These specifications do not establish safe operating settings, packing dimensions or accessory fit.
Documents and page references →How do ordinary feet attach, and what catalog scope applies?
Before you use this answer
Read the complete accepted foot answer and all catalog, adapter and optional-foot conditions; a snap-in procedure does not authorize an arbitrary retail foot or attachment.

Read the model-specific requirements with each answer before choosing parts.
Needle
Needle owner guidance
- The needle threader is limited to 75/11-100/16, cannot be used with wing or twin needles, and is not recommended for transparent nylon monofilament or specialty threads.
Use home sewing machine needles from 65/9 through 100/16, following Baby Lock’s fabric/thread matrix. Use a 75/11 home sewing needle for embroidery. The needle threader is limited to 75/11-100/16, cannot be used with wing or twin needles, and is not recommended for transparent nylon monofilament or specialty threads. For embroidery, use upper embroidery thread intended for this machine and included or recommended 60-weight embroidery bobbin thread. The 2/11 X59296-121 twin needle requires matching upper-thread thickness and quality, manual front-to-back threading, zigzag foot J, Twin Needle enabled, an appropriate stitch, and no turning with the needles down. Insert ordinary needles with the flat side toward the rear, fully to the stopper, and securely tighten the clamp. The manual’s special-use 130/705H wing-needle wording is not promoted as the universal needle system.

Bobbin
Bobbin owner guidance
- The removable standard case is green-marked XG2058-001 and is recommended with the included or recommended 60-weight embroidery bobbin thread; do not adjust its tension screw.
Use the supplied plastic X52800-120 bobbin or the same type: 11.5 mm (about 7/16 inch) high, Class 15 type. Insert it beneath the top bobbin cover so the thread unwinds left. For utility sewing, use thread appropriate for the fabric, normally the same as the upper thread. The removable standard case is green-marked XG2058-001 and is recommended with the included or recommended 60-weight embroidery bobbin thread; do not adjust its tension screw. The alternate unmarked XG2062-101 case is for prewound or other embroidery bobbin threads such as 90 weight; its tension screw can be adjusted if necessary. BLG-BOB is separately supported as a Group G compatible item, not used to infer the core system.

Presser foot owner guidance
- The walking foot also hooks around the needle-clamp screw; thread the needle manually with it or attach it only after using the needle threader, use a 90/14 needle for quilting, and sew at slow-to-medium speed.
Ordinary feet attach by aligning the foot pin with the holder notch and lowering the lever until it snaps in. The holder is removable for feet such as the walking foot and embroidery foot U, which use the holder screw. The walking foot also hooks around the needle-clamp screw; thread the needle manually with it or attach it only after using the needle threader, use a 90/14 needle for quilting, and sew at slow-to-medium speed. This does not establish holder interchangeability, universal adapter requirements, or cross-brand low-shank equivalence.

Shank type
- Only exact accepted Vesta BLMVE and this retained Baby Lock August2025 accessory catalog; other names, suffixes, generations and regions remain separate.
- This is a manufacturer chart classification, not dimensions, a universal adapter/holder promise, an offered retail unit, supplied equipment or proof that every accessory in the group fits. Follow exact manual and accessory conditions.
- Keep the printed G/L code: G is the accessory group; L uses the existing evidence engine low-shank mapping. No measured shank height, interchangeable holder or generic foot fit is established.
Low shank (the OEM group/shank chart prints G/L).

Coverage and source-review limits
Vesta research covers bobbins, needles, feet and seven specifications. BLG-BOB confirms the named item only. Class 15, 130/705H and the label L do not establish cross-brand bobbin, needle-system or low-shank equivalence. Missing information does not mean incompatible.

Next evidence targets
- Resolve maximum stitch width, hook type, bobbin diameter and standardized shank dimensions from exact-model OEM evidence.
- Keep both case/thread/tension rules and walking-foot requirements separate from unrestricted replacement fit.
- Special-use wing-needle wording does not establish a universal needle system; fabric selection and threader limits remain distinct.
These are research questions, not claims that the missing relationship exists.
