Before choosing a part

Compatibility essentials

Start with these documented details. Read the requirements with each answer before choosing a needle, bobbin or foot.

Needle system / designation

Use INSPIRA overlock needles, system ELx705; do not use a standard household sewing-machine needle of any size or type.

Requirements and sources →
Needle sizes by fabric and use

The manual specifies ELx705 sizes 12/80 and 14/90; its fabric table assigns 12/80 to light fabric and 14/90 to medium or heavy fabric.

Requirements and sources →
Differential feed / fabric settings

The differential-feed ratio range is 0.6–2.0.

Requirements and sources →

Needle, bobbin & presser-foot details

Read the model-specific requirements with each answer before choosing parts.

Needle

Needle insertion

  • For the A and/or B clamps, loosen both A and B clamp screws before inserting needles.

Turn power off and unplug, raise the needles fully, put thick fabric under the foot and lower the needles halfway into it. While holding the needles, loosen but do not remove the clamp screw, insert the replacement fully with its flat surface to the back, then tighten securely without overtightening.

Sources and pages

Needle count

  • The required count depends on the selected stitch; the specification alone does not identify a needle position for every stitch.

The machine specification supports one, two or three needles.

Sources and pages

Presser foot

Attachment mount mechanism

  • This proves only the documented foot-to-ankle pin/groove procedure; low-shank naming, adapter fit and optional or third-party foot compatibility remain unknown.

With power off and unplugged, raise the presser foot and turn the handwheel toward you until the needles are highest. Press the red ankle button, raise to extra lift, and remove the foot. While still at extra lift, place the replacement foot pin under the ankle groove, lower the foot, and press the red button so it snaps into place.

Sources and pages

Pressure adjustment

  • Adjustment depends on the fabric result; return the dial mark to 2.5 for the standard setting.

Use 2.5 for normal conditions. For less pressure turn counter-clockwise within 2.5 to 1; for more turn clockwise within 2.5 to 5, and always test on a fabric sample before the garment.

Third party compatibility

Not yet verified
  • Not yet verified: The exact reviewed manual does not establish optional-foot part numbers, shank height, universal holder geometry, adapter fit or third-party foot compatibility.

Specifications & documented facts

Specifications apply to the named model and document edition. Read any setup, fabric or safety requirements with the answer.

Owner features

Threading preparation and order

  • Switch off (0) before any needle-area adjustment, including threading; keep this prerequisite before the threading sequence. Read the complete illustrated procedure in this exact manual.

Switch the machine off (0) before threading or re-threading the needles. Thread the upper looper first, then the lower looper, followed by the needles from right to left.

Sources and pages

Threading breakage recovery

  • Switch off (0) before any needle-area adjustment, including threading; keep this prerequisite before the threading sequence. Read the complete illustrated procedure in this exact manual.

Switch the machine off (0) before threading or re-threading the needles. If a looper thread breaks, unthread the needles and loopers, then thread the upper looper, lower looper, and needles from right to left in that order.

Sources and pages

Differential feed

  • The setting depends on the material and desired result; the machine automatically starts at 1.0 when a coverlock 4.0 stitch is selected.

Use 1.0 for normal overlock stitching. When overedging stretch fabric such as knits or jersey, use 1.0–2.0 depending on desired gathering. When overedging light woven or loosely knit fabric, use 0.6–1.0 and apply gentle tension in front of and behind the foot. Test different settings before the garment.

Sources and pages

Cleaning

  • Power-off and unplugging are visually verified safety prerequisites on the cited page.

Turn power off and unplug, open the front cover, remove lint with the lint brush, then close the cover and wipe the exterior with a soft cloth. Clean the touch screen with a clean, soft, damp cloth.

Sources and pages

Lubrication

  • Do not use another oil; the manual says often but gives no fixed elapsed-time interval.

Turn power off and unplug, oil the diagram-marked moving parts often with the supplied sewing-machine oil, and wipe away excess oil before sewing.

Performance & stitch capabilities

Stitch width

  • Keep nominal widths, cutting-width ranges and the separate coverstitch specification distinct; the applicable value depends on needle position and stitch.

Nominal widths are 6 mm with the left or both overlock needles, 4 mm with the right needle, and 9 mm with the chainstitch needle. Cutting-width adjustment ranges are 5–7 mm left, 3–5 mm right, and 8–10 mm chainstitch; the standard dial setting is 6.0. The specification separately lists coverstitch width as 3–6 mm.

Care, setup & service references

Use the full source procedure and its safety precautions. A short referenced answer is not a substitute for service documentation or qualified electrical/mechanical repair.

Service-manual availability and service-only procedures remain unestablished unless separately cataloged and reviewed.

Coverage and source-review limits

Answers use the existing manual research and its page references. They do not cover every machine detail or confirm replacement products.

Still to confirm

An unanswered question does not mean a part is incompatible. We have not confirmed enough information to recommend it.

Other names, regional versions, production history, further specifications and documents are not fully covered here. Their absence is not a “none exist” finding.

Next evidence targets

  • Verify public access to the exact retained manual; the observed current publisher download has different bytes and does not replace this evidence.
  • Establish optional and third-party foot applicability from exact-model evidence.
  • Establish document edition and language metadata from accepted upstream evidence.

These are research questions, not claims that the missing relationship exists.
