With power cut off, raise needle bar highest by turning handwheel toward you; fully seat needle with long groove toward the front, then tighten its screw.

With power off, open bed slide, raise latch and lift out the bobbin case as Figure11 shows.
Follow Figure14 rotation arrow; thread through notch and under spring, then through case thread guide; leave approximately4inches as Figures16–17 show.
Hold case by latch, seat on holder spindle so position finger enters its notch, release latch and press firmly in place; close bed slide.
Source winding uses handwheel stop-motion screw, fully seated bobbin on spindle and Figure13 pre-tension/latch; do not guide or hold thread while winding.
Clockwise case tension screw rotation increases bobbin-thread tension; counterclockwise decreases it.

Turn off or unplug before threading, replacing bobbin/needle/foot/plate/feed components, maintenance and when not operating.
Use trained operators, required safety devices, goggles, proper grounding, cable and connectors. Repairs, fitting and maintenance require trained personnel; electrical work requires qualified personnel.
Do not run without belt cover, finger guard or thread take-up guard; take care when lowering or lifting the sewing head.
Check threading, lint around guides/tension, tension, needle bend/point/insertion/size and thread quality.
Check bobbin threading, tangles, tension and correct winding/smooth rotation.
Check needle insertion/condition and needle-thread-fabric match; loose needle screw or pulling fabric while sewing can contribute to breakage.
For feeding problems check applicable stitch-length and foot-pressure controls; for puckering check threading, needle point and tension.
Heavy rotating noise may relate to lint at feed dog or hook; if sewing difficulty remains after appropriate adjustments contact service center.
Raise needle bar to its highest point, follow Figure19 threading order and leave approximately4cm at needle.
Clockwise needle-thread tension nut increases tension; counterclockwise decreases it.
Align stitch-length dial millimeters to its marker; reverse lever down gives reverse feed and release gives forward feed, with separate reverse-length thumbscrew.
Spring-biased width regulator and two thumbscrews control wide/narrow limits fromzero to model maximum.
